AT THE SECOND PRESENCE
A DISCERNING SLAVE FEEDS SPIRITUAL FOOD AT AN APPOINTED TIME
In Matthew chapter 24 and 25, Jesus receives these questions from his disciples "What will be the sign of your presence?" and "What will be the signs of the conclusion of the system?" Jesus warns these faithful servants of his that they should keep on the watch because they do not know the precise time their Lord is coming "You too prove to be ready because at an hour you do not think it to be, the Son of man is coming." Matthew 24:14.
Continuing Jesus contrasts two servants, one described as faithful and discreet who, at the time of his return, is found providing correct spiritual food to his servants. He will be rewarded by being appointed over the care of all his other earthly interests, "Who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their (spiritual) food at the proper time? Happy is that slave if his master on coming finds him doing so! Truly I say to you, he will appoint him over all his belongings" Matthew 24:45-47 .
A DELINQUENT SLAVE
FAILS TO FEED SPIRITUAL FOOD AT THE APPOINTED TIME OF THE SECOND PRESENCE .
Another slave servant considers Jesus has taken too long to long to return, and abuses his other servants. He will be surprised when Jesus does return and will severely punish him for this abuse. He is labelled as two faced and his loss causes him great pain.
"But if ever that negligent (evil) slave says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying,’49 and he starts to beat his fellow slaves and to eat and drink with the confirmed drunkards, the 50 master of that slave will come on a day that he does not expect and in an hour that he does not know, 51 and he will punish him with the greatest severity and will assign him his place with the hypocrites. There is where his weeping and the gnashing of his teeth will be" Matthew 24:48-51.
WHO IS THIS NEGLIGENT EVIL SERVANT?
The expression, evil servant. derives from two Greek words 'Doilies' meaning Servant, Slave, Employee, and 'Kakos', meaning, Evil, Wicked, Bad, Unfair of bad character, Destructive, Injurious person. Providing other possible renderings of 'Kakas Doilies' as, Evil Slave, Wicked Servant, Injurious Employee of Bad Servant
At the unexpected arrival time of his second presence, commissioned servants are examined to verify who is actually feeding correct spiritual information at the correct time. This can only apply to those proclaiming the timing and of Jesus presence in connection with God's Kingdom. Some have been proclaiming this for some time but as it didn't arrive when they expected it they prove to be two-faced, abusing his servants. While the wise servant realises the date for the arrival for Jesus second presence as taught by this Bad Servant is wrong and adjust to a new correct date for the arrival and give it out.
WHO IS THE WISE LOYAL SERVANT?
Over the years, various religions have proclaimed the time of the arrival of Jesus at his second presence. More recently, religious groups have held the following dates for Jesus' arrival, 1694, 1700, 1757, 1829, 1836, 1844, 1861, 1874, 1878, 1891, 1901, 1914, (see Wikipedia 'Predictions and claims for Second coming of Christ). When this did not happen, it appeared that Jesus had delayed his Second coming. Of these, the year 1914 is believed by over 8 million Jehovah's Witnesses as the year for the start of Jesus' second presence. Because this year is clearly wrong, they are forced to extend the bible critical generation period linked to it, and continue preaching this incorrect date THE OVER LAPPING GENERATION. They lose out by not moving on to the next phase. Why? Because wrongly they expect events as per their own erroneous time circulations. They say in their hearts vs 48 "My master is delaying". Leading them to: (vs 49) brow beat their followers with all sorts of unnecessary burdensome rules, regulations and traditions (binding up heavy loads, putting them on others shoulders Mat 23:4) and turn to more earthly matters described as "eating and drinking with the confirmed drunkards" see App.12 607 PLUS 2,520 YEARS =1914 and App.10 THE BIBLE FINAL GENERATION Mat 24v34 .
However, Jesus says of those recognising his coming at an unexpected time after a seeming period of delay. "Happy is that slave if his master on arriving finds him doing so" (giving out spiritual food to the household at the correct time). Why? Because this wise servant rejects the incorrect time for the arrival of Jesus' second presence as taught by the evil servant. He is happy to adjust to the correct time. This servant is appointed over his earthly interests in the next phase of Kingdom activity. "They are to be appointed over all the earthly belongings" vs 47. All are invited to thoroughly examine the information and scriptural evidence presented, relating to the true date to expect the return of Christ's second presence.
WHAT HAPPENS TO THESE NON-RESPONDING ONES?
Many former groups of servants lose the Master's approval and direction. They water down their objectives, reverting to the ways of all formal Christian religions and go to 'sleep' spiritually. This has happened to many, through misunderstandings and erroneous time calculations for the master's return. They water down their beliefs covering a meaningless fudged time period, rather than examining to see if it is their expected dates that were wrongly calculated, causing a seeming delay. "The master comes (after a seeming delay) on a day that they do not expect and in an hour that they do not recognise" (because of wrong calculations). Amazingly, most of these religions continue on, some even growing to large numbers.
So what happens to these unwise ones that are unaware of the seemingly delayed second presence of Christ? They receive a heavy punishment, (vs 51) "He will cut them in two and place them with the hypocrites". Because being two-faced they wilfully and stubbornly fail to correct their errors and support the Master at the critical time of his arrival, they therefore miss out on it completely. Many millions have had an active part in announcing the Second Presence. Their leaders rebel against Jesus, refusing to accept his seemingly delayed arrival and brow beat their followers into continuing to believe and preach the old erroneous dates. They become spiritually dead as the rest of the hypocrites within Christian denominations, losing the opportunity to become Sons of the Kingdom. "Whereas (possible) sons of the Kingdom will be thrown into the darkness outside. Where [their] weeping and the gnashing of [their] teeth will be”Matthew 8:12.
This situation will be exposed at the time of Jesus' second presence. These ones at the correct time could have had a great opportunity which they wast. No wonder they are described as weeping and mad with themselves in regret, after finding out too late they have been mislead, even though they were warned. What a disaster for these ones, who may have served the Master for years but fall into the trap of building more loyalty for their man made religious organisations than for God and His appointed time. Not only may they lose out on the opportunity of being members of the Kingdom, but they are also counted in with the unrighteous waiting in the grave or Hades. Cut off for a further 1,000 years during the Kingdom's 1,000 year rulership. They may well even fail to gain an earlier better earthly resurrection along with the "righteous". Instead, they may have to wait in death sleep during this 1,000 years for the later resurrection of the "unrighteous", (Luke 16:19-31, John 5:29, Acts 24:15, 1 Cor 15:24).
THOSE FIRST IN LINE BECOME THE LAST TO BENEFIT.
Individuals claiming to have worked in the vineyard, some all their adult lives, (Mat 20:16) could have been first in line for Kingdom recruitment, now become the last in line. They were in the front line position, eating and drinking spiritual food from the table of their Master. Failing to recognise and support the seemingly delayed date for the return of Jesus, they are shut out from any further part in Kingdom activities (Luke 13:25-30). In chapter 25 of Matthew, Jesus continues using illustrations on the same theme, punishment by cutting off from Kingdom opportunities of those who should have responded to the correct time.
TEN VIRGINS, 5 DISCERNING, 5 STUPID
Jesus gave similar illustration, this time of ten virgins, five discerning and five stupid, while the bridegroom delays. When the arrival announcement comes, the discerning act wisely by being prepared to respond to the situation. The five stupid do not respond, sticking to old erroneous date calculations, complaining about the delay, and go to sleep spiritually, missing the call. They are rejected and locked out. The illustration indicates that of the group of 10 virgins split, five are stupid and do not respond to the correct time while five wise do. The wise separate from the stupid part.
"The kingdom of the heavens will become like ten virgins that took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom (at his second presence). 2 Five of them were foolish, and five were discreet. 3 For the foolish took their lamps but took no oil with them, 4 whereas the discreet took oil in their receptacles with their lamps. 5 While the bridegroom was delaying, they all nodded and went to sleep. 6 Right in the middle of the night there arose a cry, ‘Here is the bridegroom! Be on your way out to meet him.’ 7 Then all those virgins rose and put their lamps in order. 8 The foolish said to the discreet, ‘Give us some of your oil, because our lamps are about to go out.’ 9 The discreet answered with the words, ‘Perhaps there may not be quite enough for us and you. Be on your way, instead, to those who sell it and buy for yourselves.’ 10 While they were going off to buy, the bridegroom arrived, and the virgins that were ready went in with him to the marriage feast; and the door was shut. 11 Afterwards the rest of the virgins also came, saying, ‘Sir, sir, open to us!’ 12 In answer he said, ‘I tell you the truth, I do not know you.’ 13 “Keep on the watch, therefore, because you know neither the day nor the hour" Matthew 25:1-12 .
CONCLUSION.
Jesus warns those who have been working in the field during the lead up time to his second presence. Because it appears to delay to them, some go to sleep on the job, stop illuminating and turn into delinquent servants. They resist the second John the Baptist preparation work, when to them, he heralds a seemingly late delay of the Master's return.
These illustrations reveal two parts to a lead up group. One part turns bad and loses out. Another part remain awake, recognising the delay and the mistakes. These accept the errors, make adjustments and go forward with the new timetable revealed by the second John the Baptist herald. It is an individual's responsibility to stay awake and on their spiritual toes. Who will prove to be wise and who will be foolish, alertness needs to be maintained, wrong dates need to be corrected in order to carry on serving and progressing on to gain Kingdom rewards (Mat 24:47).
As the cry from the second John the Baptist preparation vehicle starts to amplify, it will carry out one of the greatest assignments on behalf of God, preparing things for the Kingdom. Directing alert and awake persons, moving them toward the time of Christ's second presence. The wise alert servants respond to the John the Baptist preparation vehicle and the opportunity of moving forward as candidates for Kingdom recruitment as King/Priests when it restarts.
